It was such a surprise to find that the Gastrobus now had a restaurant in my neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by all their veggie side dishes, it was too hard to choose! I finally went with the brussels sprouts + bok choy and crispy yukon golds with garlic aioli. They were perfection. The red pepper flakes were a nice addition to the sprouts and the crispy potatoes, well crispy they were and happy I became.

If you’re ever looking for a fresh, organic meal, head on over to Urth Cafe and they’ll take care of you! You might feel like you’ve headed in the wrong direction, but worry not Urth Cafe is there…nestled between old factory buildings, well new shiny lofts. Once you find it don’t be overwhelmed with the crowds or pushy waiters taking your order. Granted you might receive your food before your drinks, don’t worry its worth the wait. I had been craving a smoothie and once I finally had it, I was in heaven.

Some definite favorites, poached eggs on brioche with prosciutto, spinach & feta omelet, and the egg sandwich.

I didn’t know what to expect while heading to The Misfit. What I didn’t expect was art deco decor, hand crafted drinks and tapas style dining. While surprised, I wasn’t disappointed. I wish I had photos of the baby broccoli with burrata and the baked goat cheese with tomato gravy and garlic toasts to share, they were quite tasty! You’ll see a shot of the spicy mac & cheese below, highly recommended.

Couldn’t stay away from Nick’s in Laguna Beach. You might remember my post about the best orange juice I’ve ever had? Yep, still holds up

We checked out the new Sunday jazz brunch at Barbara’s recently. If you’re ever looking for a non-crowded and fuss free spot, this is it. And don’t forget to take a post brunch stroll around to check out the unique and creative artist spaces.
